TATRA trucks are well-proven and reliable partners for road maintenance service crews during both winters and summers. TATRA PHOENIX, the new product line, is following in the footsteps of it predecessors and building on their reputation.
A new prototype TATRA PHOENIX 4×4 for winter road maintenance equipped with a blade and salt gritter was introduced at the presentation organized by special superstructure producer KOBIT. Even though the truck was build as a prototype for tests of the superstructures; the chassis for these applications is already fully prepared for the serial production. For these special applications the following features are built in as a standard: reinforced anticorrosion treatment of the chassis, fixing points for equipment and cross-members for replaceable superstructures and auxiliary headlamps.
The presented truck is equipped with a 265 kW PACCAR MX engine, manual ZF EcoSplit 16-speed gearbox, and one-speed TATRA transfer case.
The chassis for road maintenance services can be equipped with a choice of PACCAR MX engines 265 – 340 kW, manual or automated ZF gearboxes (EcoSpilt, AsTronic], additional braking systems – MX engine brake or an intarder, and according to customers’ needs one- or two-speed TATRA transfer case. The crew benefits from spacious, ergonomic cab that can be additionally equipped with a third seat.
The initial user tests for this specific segment show that customers can rely on robust, durable, and comfortable all-wheel-drive chassis with very efficient PACCAR MX engines that can offer low fuel consumption.
